‘Has Xi Jinping been placed under house arrest in Beijing? When Xi was in Samarkand recently, it is believed that the leaders of the Communist Party of China removed him from the post of in-charge of the party’s army. After this, on his return to the country, he was under house arrest. This tweet is from Subramanian Swamy. There is only one question running on social media right now, has there been a coup in China? Many people have started comparing it with Pakistan, where till date no PM has been able to complete the five-year term. However, this is not the case with Xi. He has been in the presidency since 2013 and has grown steadily stronger. In such a situation, social media posts claiming Jinping’s coup have shocked people.
These posts are also being bolstered by photographs and videos that claim to have military vehicles plying on the streets of Beijing. A user named Jennifer Zeng has tweeted a video, in which Chinese army vehicles are seen on the streets. According to Jennifer, on September 22, PLA (People’s Liberation Army) vehicles were heading towards Beijing. The army movement started from Huanlei County near Beijing.
It is difficult to get videos and pictures out of China anyway. But, in the messages that are going on social media, Chinese people have also told that some unusual developments are going on in Beijing. The whole city is under army guard. However, no one is in a position to confirm whether Xi Jinping has actually been removed from office and placed under house arrest.
According to the claims, this entire action has been taken at the behest of former Chinese President Hu Jintao and former Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. It is being told that preparations for Jinping’s coup were done during his stay in the SCO summit. He was put under house arrest as soon as he returned from there. However, none of these things have been officially confirmed. Neither the Chinese government has issued any statement, nor is the state media there giving any news.
Hu Jintao takes power?
This is not the first time rumors of a rebellion against Xi Jinping have cropped up. Even before this, many times such news has been spreading sensation in social media that there has been a rebellion against Jinping. But Xi has gone on to strengthen his strength. Just a few days ago, he has imprisoned a senior Chinese security official for political reasons. Sun Lijun was accused of working against the government. Earlier a Justice Minister was also sent to jail. Experts say that with these drastic measures, Xi has sent a strong message to his opponents.
